CPR Training
The CPR (CardioPulmonary Resuscitation) course teaches the guidelines to assist infants,
children, and adults. The topics covered include:
- Heimlich maneuver (for choking)
- Rescue breathing
- Circulation
- Chest compressions
One of the leading causes of death in the United States is sudden cardiac arrest, resulting in about
250,000 deaths each year. In addition, drownings, suffocations, electrocutions, and drug intoxication
cause cardiac arrest. Many deaths can be prevented if the victims receive early CPR, early automated
external defibrillation (AED) and early advanced care by trained EMS professionals.
Infants, children and adults have all their own basic life support techniques. It is important, that
every one gets trained in all the different age groups. The general age guidelines states to use
infant CPR for ages birth to 1, child CPR for ages 1 to 8, and adult CPR for ages 8 and up.
